Sweat, Sun, and Success: Thriving in Pesaro’s Intense Competition

After a tough few days of training in the hot sun, we had our second competition before returning home. The competition was as crowded as ever, and with little shade and hot temperatures forecasted, everyone was excited for what was to come.

On the first day of racing in Pesaro, everyone was more prepared for the long day ahead, thanks to last week’s racing. There was one problem at the start of the day: there was no programme or timeline, so waiting and being ready was key. Despite the rising temperatures, everyone raced well under the conditions and felt more confident in the new environment.

A unique aspect of this competition was the one and a half hour lunch break, during which everyone ate together, as lunch was fully provided to all competitors and coaches. We finished the day strong, but everyone was feeling the heat, only leaving the pool at 7:45 pm.

On the last day of competition, the temperature continued to rise, reaching up to 32 degrees during the day. There were some tired bodies, but after everyone gave their all in their races, we came out as the top club for the competition. It was a great way to finish and keep Graham happy.
